Jefferson City, Missouri. Jefferson City Parks and Recreation is partnering with United Capital City Soccer Club to bring a new fall, spring, and summer soccer program to community members of Jefferson City.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for both organizations and the Jefferson City community too,” shared JC Parks and Recreation Director, Aaron Grefrath.
The program will kick off later this year, with the fall season stretching from August 7 through October 5, 2024, with spring and summer seasons planned for 2025
Registration to participate this fall opens on June 1 and lasts through July 22, 2024. Early bird registration fees (June 1 – July 1) are set at $120.00, and regular registration (July 2 – 22) fees are set at $130.00. Players can purchase their reversible jersey for an additional $25.00.
The eight-game season will include four divisions: Pre-K (ages 4-5), Kindergarten and First Grades, Second and Third Grades, and Fourth and Fifth Grades. Grade level is determined by the grade the student is enrolled for entering Fall 2024; Pre-K participants are determined by age as of August 1, 2024. Games will be played on Saturdays, with training days once each week on Wednesday evenings.
Games will take place on the turf soccer field at Special Olympics Missouri, located at 1 Special Olympics Drive in Jefferson City, MO 65101.
Participants of the program will receive training and coaching from experienced UCC staff, develop a stronger foundation to improve the level of play, and gain a greater understanding of how to play the game.
“UCC and JC Parks and Recreation share the same vision,” said United Capital City Soccer Club Executive Director, Tom Chapman, “We’re both invested in providing Central Missouri youth with a strong soccer foundation that increases player participation and passion.”
